Paul joins the HCpartners team with a strong background in operational and strategic human resource management. Paul most recently served as Vice President of Human Resources for Rio Tinto Energy America “RTEA”, the nation’s second largest coal producer, operating five coal mines in Wyoming, Colorado and Montana, and uranium mine operator in southern Wyoming. As the chief HR officer for North America, Paul led an HR team responsible for overseeing the mine operations and corporate offices, representing an employee base of over 2,500 employees. In addition, Paul served as President and Chairman of the Board for the Wyoming Quality Health Care Coalition (WQHC), a joint venture LLC that brought three of the nation’s largest coal companies together to service the health care needs of the three companies’ employees, dependents and retirees. The WQHC Coalition worked together to provide quality health care, culminating in the launch of the first company-run Health Center to meet the medical needs of the employees, retirees and their dependents in the surrounding market.
Prior to Joining RTEA, Paul served as the Senior Vice President of Human Resources and Chief Administrative Officer for Fort Knox National Company. One of the nation’s largest independent processors of electronic payments, processing over $30 billion annually in electronic payments for public and private companies. Paul’s previous experience was with Cendant Corporation, where he was the Global Vice President of Human Resources and HR shared Services for Cendant’s Travel Division. In this role Paul had global responsibility for hr, compensation, facilities, security, and internal communications. During his tenure with Cendant Paul was instrumental in building a “Best in Class” HR function, with accountability for employee relations, training, staffing and recruitment. Paul’s earliest career experiences include HR assignments with the Pilot Corporation and the Circle K Corporation. He is also a US Army veteran, serving in the first Gulf War with an honorable discharge at the rank of Sergeant.
